: I cant believe it takes forever to drill a hole in glass. What is the fastest way to do this?

Speed and drilling holes in glass do NOT go hand in hand. It takes time, patience.

That having been said, it shouldn't take *forever*.

I make a lot of whindchimes and I use a hand held Dremel with a diamond coated bit. It looks just like a long needle almost. Pointed at the end.

Be sure you're using lots of water, I submerge my pieces in a shallow pan with a sheet of rigid styrofoam beneath them.

The fact that you're using a cordless drill *might* have some bearing as they are usually not as powerful as corded ones, but I highly doubt it's making that much of a problem. It sounds more like your drill bit has lost it's diamond coating. They do wear out after a little while, and if you've drilled dry, they wear out REAL quick. If you're using lots of water as I stated above, you should get tons of holes out of one bit. (like say.. ohh.. 50 or so anyway)
