The fume trap is not perfect. I wouldn't want to suck down the filtered air directly, but it is the most affordable filter available and does a decent job of pulling the worst fumes away from your face.
The fume trap is light enough to set right on top of your work. I just move it around to keep it within about 8 to 10 inches of the part of the panel I'm soldering and I can breathe easy.
The activated charcoal filters, while not HEPA, take out a fair amount of particulate matter and definitely keep my shop smelling nicer!
